Heel pain · Gritted through it for years Karin S., stepz customer

The best shoes I've ever had, and I'm 58

Karin S. (58) Verified customer

  • Heel pain clearly less, after years
  • Toes finally have real room, nothing presses
  • Puts them on in the morning and only takes them off in the evening

"I've owned a lot of shoes in 40 years, but never any I didn't want to take off. For the first time my toes have real room, nothing squeezes, nothing presses. And my heel? It was with me every day for years. Now I forget for days at a time that I ever had heel pain. These are the best shoes I've ever had. Full stop."

Plantar fasciitis · Also uses the stepz insoles Frank D., stepz customer

Insole + shoe together, my heel is a different life

Frank D. (61) Verified customer

  • stepz Entlastungssohle passt direkt hinein
  • Wide toe box: the foot works, instead of suffering
  • Does his evening walk again without weighing it up

"The pressure-relief insoles were my first ray of hope, but in my old, tight shoes they could never show their full potential. Now the insole sits in the barefoot shoe, my toes have room, and the fascia can finally come to rest instead of being irritated with every step. I do my big evening walk again. My wife says she doesn't recognise the way I walk, in the best sense."

Heel spur · Barely able to put weight on it in the morning Renate B., stepz customer

Getting up in the morning without stabbing, I'd written that off

Renate B. (64) Verified customer

  • The stabbing in my heel almost completely gone
  • No comparison to any other shoe in the closet
  • Walks distances again that were unthinkable

"Heel spur for four years. The first steps in the morning were agony every day, I literally hauled myself to the sink. Today I get up and just start walking. Just like that. I wear the shoes from morning to night, because everything else feels wrong now. My sister ordered a pair herself after two weeks, because she couldn't believe it."

Heel pain · Only ordered because of the return option Andrea M., stepz customer

Ordered to send them back, now I don't take them off anymore

Andrea M. (49) Verified customer

  • Heel pain in the early shift massively reduced
  • Like walking barefoot, only protected
  • Ordered a second pair before the 30 days were up

"I was completely done with the whole foot topic, so much money burned. I only ordered because you can return them worn. Then the first day: my toes could move in a shoe for the first time. After two weeks of early shifts it was clear, these aren't going anywhere. My heel barely speaks up anymore, and honestly I only take the shoes off to sleep."

Plantar fasciitis · 9h on your feet Jürgen H., stepz customer

My fascia finally comes to rest, after 3 years of constant pain

Jürgen H. (53) Verified customer

  • Plantar fasciitis pain less week after week
  • Gets through full 9-hour days, without gritting my teeth
  • Rolls off so softly that he wears nothing else anymore

"Three years of plantar fasciitis. Three years of limping every morning. I'd sworn by thick cushioning, and got worse every year. With stepz, my fascia had the chance to regenerate for the first time, because the foot finally works instead of being locked up. The first week pulls at the calf, after that you won't want anything else. I'm on my feet 9 hours a day and come home in the evening as if nothing happened."

stepz® relieves where conventional shoes fail …

Look at your shoes: at the front they taper to a point, at the back they lift the heel, and the sole is so stiff that your foot can barely move in it. The toes are pressed together, the arch is shut down, and your plantar fascia is under pull with every step. All day long. In almost every shoe. For years. It's exactly this constant pull that stabs in your heel in the morning.

The stepz barefoot shoes turn that around: a wide toe box, no raised heel, a flexible sole that goes along with every movement of your foot. Your toes spread, the foot muscles take over their work again, the arch is held from within instead of propped up by material. The pull on the irritated fascia eases, with every step your foot makes on its own again.

Why the stepz Barefoot shoes work

Your toes can fully spread out in a shoe for the first time, just as they do barefoot. This relieves the forefoot, gives the arch its natural base back and takes the constant pull off the plantar fascia. Exactly the point where normal shoes have been working against your foot for years.

Almost every normal shoe lifts the heel, and day after day shortens the calf and Achilles tendon. Both pull directly on your plantar fascia. With stepz, the heel and forefoot are on one level: the pull eases, your gait becomes more natural, your posture more upright.

A stiff sole shuts down your foot muscles, and a shut-down foot gets weaker, not stronger. The stepz insole bends with every movement of your foot. Your muscles take over their work again and hold the arch from within, instead of relying on material that gives way after a few weeks.

No laces, no bending down, no fumbling. Slip in, adjust the strap if you like, off you go. The elastic knitted upper wraps around your foot and holds it securely, at six in the morning just as much as on a quick dash to the door.

The knitted upper weighs almost nothing and lets air reach your foot, no sweating, no pressing, no heavy feeling in the evening. You barely notice the shoe. And that's exactly the point: a foot that moves freely doesn't need a heavy shoe around it.

Already have the stepz pressure-relief insoles? They fit straight into the barefoot shoe, targeted pressure relief in a shoe that finally gives your foot room. Two systems that work together instead of against each other. And if you don't have the insoles: the shoe works completely on its own, too.

Dr. Gilbert, MD, specialist in orthopaedics, during the development of the stepz barefoot shoes

"Most shoes work against the foot: they squeeze the toes together, lift the heel and take the muscles' job away. A foot that's allowed to move freely rebuilds exactly those muscles again, it takes a little patience at first, but it's the path I recommend to my patients. That's why I co-developed the stepz barefoot shoes."
